Indoor Fins: notice for testers

This is a test build of Indoor Fins. Please read this before you use it.

Who owns it
  Indoor Fins is the unpublished work of Merrick Allen. Copyright (c) 2026 Merrick Allen. All rights
  reserved. This covers the game, its code, its fish and other art, Sardini, its name and its look.

Why you have it
  You have it privately, for one reason: to test it and tell Merrick what you think. It is not
  for sale and not published.

What you may not do
  Without Merrick's written permission, do not:
  - copy it or give it to anyone else, or put it online;
  - publish, stream, or post videos or screenshots of it in public (sending them to Merrick is fine);
  - take it apart or reverse-engineer it, or try to get its source code;
  - reuse its art, its fish, Sardini or its code in anything else.
  When the test ends, or if Merrick asks, please delete your copy.

Open-licence parts
  Some fish are drawn from photos under Creative Commons licences, and some code and the fonts are
  under open-source licences. CREDITS.txt and THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt list these parts. You may use
  those parts under their own licences, and nothing here limits that.

No warranty
  This is a test build. It may have bugs, crash, or lose your collection. You use it at your own risk.
  It comes "as is", with no warranty, as far as the law allows. Nothing here takes away any right
  that the law gives you and that cannot be taken away (for example, under the Australian Consumer
  Law).

Your feedback
  Thank you for any feedback. Merrick may use what you send freely to improve Indoor Fins, with no
  payment or credit owed.

What the game sends
  The game sends nothing until you write a report in its feedback form (the menu's More, then
  feedback) and press Send. A report holds what you wrote, the game version, your operating system,
  processor type, graphics card, screen scale, window size, the game's settings, and a random number
  that tells one install's reports apart. It also holds a picture of the game's own window and the
  end of the game's log, but only if you tick them. The log has your user name and home folder taken
  out. Ticking the play log also sends your last play session as one small file: the buttons you
  pressed and where in the window, which fish came and which you caught, how smoothly it ran, and any
  errors. It is built from numbers and fixed words, so it cannot hold your files, names, what you
  typed, your desktop or what your agents are doing. The one line with words in it is written if
  the game crashes: where in the game's code it failed, and the error message with any folder or
  file path cut out. The game keeps the last five sessions in a
  "sessions" folder next to its settings, and you can open one in a text editor to see for yourself.
  A report never holds your name, email or files. Reports go through a server run by Cloudflare
  into Merrick's private list of bugs and ideas. Please do not write personal details in a report.
  Everything else the game keeps (settings, collection, its log) stays on your computer, in the
  folder that "How to open Indoor Fins" names.
